Tonight we had our two-by-two with our good friends Jim and Rachel. We enjoyed going over to there house and catching up with them. We feasted on lasagna, garlic bread, and caesar salad. After that delicious meal we had a strawberry-blackberry dump cake that I made this afternoon. I liked the strawberry part while TJ enjoyed the blackberry. Jim and Rachel had a mix. (Good idea!) Once we were all full, we played “Dance Revolution 3″ with them. It was a really good workout. After TJ did one he was all sweaty.
We are looking at getting it so we can have people over and play it with them.

Today was the final day of tryouts for soccer. I am once again coaching the middle school girls soccer team for Friendship. It is definitely a stretch for me, but I really enjoy getting to know the girls. This year, God was just awesome and allowed me to keep everyone who tried out. I am so excited! I have some girls with great character this year. When they heard that one girl who couldn’t make it on the team for various reasons was put as team manager they were excited. “Thank you, Coach. You don’t know what it means to her. She’s so happy.” (Quote from one of the players) This year will be a challenge as I help some of the girls learn how to play soccer. One girl who did not make the team last year because of her effort was showing me this year how much she wanted to be on the team. She’s a complete 360 from where she was last year. Soccer season has begun! First game is next Thursday – Bring it on.

My hubby and I have been looking for a new car for almost a month now. This weekend one of our friends from church told us he had one for $2000 (the price we were looking for). We went out and checked it out and bought it! He is a good beater. His name is Champion. Champion is a ’97 VW Passat with a diesel engine. My husband is having fun driving him since he’s a stick shift. I can drive myself to work in the morning. YEAH!

I have gotten A LOT of free food this weekend. I spent about 30 minutes going to all the websites on this list to get free stuff, but this is all that I have gotten this weekend:
There are a lot more too. I only have used some of the coupons that I have gotten. One thing to keep in mind though is to watch when you can use the coupon and they expire (i.e. Jersey Mikes is only on your birthday). Other than that enjoy!

Today not much got done for my goals. I did, however, get my field trip request form turned in. As I have been working on Lesson Plans, it dawned on me that I probably should decide when I am having my field trip before I finish the rest of the year’s lesson plans. The Lesson Plans I have finished can be modified and moved easily so it is not issue. Monday we have off so I plan on getting several lesson plans done that day. Soccer starts Tuesday so I have to begin preparing for that as well. Thankfully Coach Soemer is going to take over Conditioning so I only have an hour to plan for each practice. I cannot wait for the soccer season to start. I enjoy being with the girls and seeing them learn new things. There is one girl that I’m REALLY trying to get to come out and play. If she does, we may have a chance of being really good! For now, adios!

My class does the Book-It Program where you can get free pizza just for reading books. One of the programs they did was to have “America’s Biggest Storytime.” I showed this to my class today and they loved it! My boys were even into it! I just loved it when one of my kids said, “Mrs. Duncan, Tim Tebow is the Quarterback for the Broncos!” (As if I didn’t already know that!)
I love my students!

I have just finished my English lesson plans for the rest of the year! YEAH! All I have left are Bible, Math, History/Health, Reading, and Penmanship! Soccer starts next week so output will slow down. I would love to have most of them done by the end of this week. We will see what happens.
And another happiness – I am completely caught up with my grading and makeup work! It was so nice today to just have to send the email and not have to worry about entering grades.
My birthday is Sunday! TJ and I already have our “itinerary” to get all the free stuff. I love free stuff!
